MBL About Us
MBL Development Co. was incorporated in 1991. Throughout our 29 years in the affordable housing development business, we have successfully constructed 27 communities. Currently MBL is looking to develop in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. All of our complexes were built within the timelines proposed and were leased quickly with above average occupancy rates. Our existing developments are well kept and well managed, most with long waiting lists.
MBL Development Co. is proud to have constructed our communities within very reasonable cost levels. We request the least amount of tax credits necessary to build our properties, in order to maximize the tax credit program.
Our current endeavor is to continue to construct affordable senior and multi-family housing developments in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. We will also follow Green Building principles for environmental and safety measures for our residents. Our properties include Supportive Services that will enhance the well-being of our residents so they can remain independent for as long as possible.
OUR TEAM MEMBERS:
D. Kim Lingle – President and Owner of MBL Development Co.
Kim is proud of his small town Windsor, Missouri roots. He attended William Jewell College where he played basketball and attained degrees in Finance and Accounting. He worked in the banking industry for nine years until he went out on his own to pursue opportunities in the development and building of affordable housing. He started MBL Development Co. in 1991, which is named after his daughter Meghan.
Michelle Jennings – Vice President of Development
Michelle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and has earned her MBA. She has experience in accounting audit and financial analysis. After three years of working as MBL’s external auditor, she joined the MBL Development team in 2012.
Brianne Cabe – Asst. Vice President of Development
Brianne has worked in the affordable housing industry since 2010. She joined the MBL team in June, 2021 and brings knowledge in tax credits and construction disbursement.
Ryan Lingle - Asst. Vice President of Development
Ryan’s involvement in real estate dates back to high school where he spent the summers working construction for MBL’s projects in Sedalia and Clinton, Missouri. He attended Kansas State University where he attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. For seven years Ryan worked in banking as a Commercial Real Estate Lender. Ryan officially joined the MBL team in 2023 and brings extensive experience in tax credit transactions.
Roger Jared – Construction Superintendent
Roger has worked in construction since he was 15 years old. He has been in charge of construction for MBL since day one. He has supervised the construction of over 27 developments in Missouri, Iowa and Kansas for MBL.
David Coman – Construction Superintendent
David began his construction career on an MBL Development in 2001. After the birth of his daughter, he and his family settled back in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he started his own construction company JarCo Construction Solutions LLC. For over 15 years, he has been a general contractor for various residential and commercial projects, doing rehabilitation work as well as new construction all over Oklahoma. In 2020, David joined the MBL Development team again as the Co. Construction Superintendent.
Community Housing Ministry, Inc. – Management Company
MBL Development Co. has partnered with Community Housing Ministry, Inc. (CHM) to manage our developments since 2014. CHM has been in the business of managing/owning affordable rental housing for over 30 years as a nonprofit corporation in St. Joseph, Missouri. They endeavor to be a compassionate organization that puts customers first and places the highest priority on providing affordable housing to those in need. Each development has a property manager and maintenance staff. CHM assists residents in getting involved in their community through social and enrichment activities.
